53 Weeks Of Change : Week 1

Hello everyone!

First of all I’d like to apologize for the lack of posting – it’s been incredibly busy and I have totally lacked any kind of motivation. However, after having a break over the holidays and having some much needed downtime, this last point leads me to my goals for 2019. I’m attempting to start a New Years resolution or more aptly a challenge for 2019. My hope is to make small (<- key word) changes or to begin forming some “new” habits. My end result is to hopefully end 2019 in an overall healthier spot and to create small habits so I can continue for years to come ๐Ÿ˜. I’m also doing this as I go, so here we go.

I began this challenge a week ago and already with one small change I’ve noticed changes. My first challenge was to start drinking enough water in the day. Believe it or not I have been able to go a whole day without drinking very little or nothing (apparently hereditary as my mom was the same way๐Ÿ˜ฉ). Anyways this is a horrible habit, I know. BUT, you guys…. I am happy to report I’ve done a whole week of drinking my 6 large glasses per day (apparently what I need to drink for my weight). I truly believe the key to my success on this was the app -> plantnanny.

This app calculates how much water you should be drinking in a day, sets reminders on your phone and tracks daily and weekly your progress. You also get to help “grow” the cutest little plants for your “garden”. I have to say I’ve tried other ways in the past and this has kept me on track the longest. ( 1 week I know, but 2 more weeks and it’s a habit right?).

Like I said, I already have felt some positive changes of drinking enough water daily, my skin looks healthier, I feel more awake and I definitely have more energy.

My next small changes for week 2: eat more veggies and fruit daily (This week I’ll be focusing mostly on incorporating more veggies and fruit into my breakfasts) and read one chapter of a self-development book each morning before getting out of bed. I’ve downloaded Yummly to help with the first task and goodreads to track my second (add me if you have goodreads ๐Ÿ˜: Kimberly Chiarelli). The first book I’m reading is – You are a Badass by Jen Sincero. I will update on the progress next Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜˜
